Do these people really believe this?
There are a lot of people who come into this forum and answer questions, regarding same sex marriage, with statements such as:
“If gays should be able marry, people should be able to marry animals, family members, and children. What happens for one special interest group should happen for another”.
What I want to know is: Do these people actually really believe these things, or are they just saying it to try to make a point that gay marriage shouldn’t be allowed?
What do you all think?
Many seem to want to believe the worst of us.
They look for the most degrading and extreme practices of some gay folk (who happen to also be warped) and think we all do those things. They never would say that all straights are into orgies, pedophilia and rape, but the more outlandish the example, the better they like it for their anti-gay propoganda.
Behind this there seems to be an “Us vs. Them” attitude. They think they are good and righteous, pure and holy, and the rest of us are degraded scumbags capable of literally anything. Like we are looking for any hole to fill and want to hide behind bushes so we can jump the next guy who walks by.
We are the perverts of Sodom, calling forth fire from the sky, earthquakes, wildfires, famine, climate change and ecnonomic crisis!
They need a convenient scapegoat for all the problems of the world they think God is imposing upon us. We are a minority, and there is a centuries-cherished misuse of Scripture which seems to justify their opinions.
Shockingly, yes, they actually believe it. Well, not really…but they kinda do.
